The news about the seven countries with almost 100% of their energy from renewable sources is good news, indeed! The rest of us can do this.
April 23, 2024 at 9:00 pm
Yes, we can! These seven states are demonstrating excellent examples. I believe there are US cities, maybe even states approaching this milestone.

I’m glad that you mentioned the USA. According to Yale Climate Connections, based on 2021 figures, the top four states for renewable energy are South Dakota (83%), Vermont (76%), Washington (74%), and Idaho (69%). California lags behind with 36%. Here’s the link to the USA map: https://yaleclimateconnections.org/2023/02/us-state-with-most-renewable-energy-production/

Interesting! I would not have guessed South Dakota as number one. Would have thought Hawaii was doing better. Not that surprised about the southern states, which tend to be behind. Thanks for this data, Rosaliene.

There are some amazing and courageous inspiring individuals out there whose courage puts many of us who moan at our lot to shame.. As that young girl demonstrates..
Now we have Wind farms and Solar panels fields springing up all over, with huge amounts of investment. But the problem is when the wind blows and the Sun shines our current Electricity grids cannot take the amount of energy. So the wind turbines are turned off… Crazy isn’t it.. As the infra structure isn’t in place..
Lets hope you have it more sorted out there in the USA JoAnna..
Lots of great News Items my friend.. thank you for sharing them.. ❤ xx ❤ 🙏

I, too thought about how Yana’s courage puts my tiny challenges in perspective. I was not aware of the problem of infrastructure being able to handle the amount of energy, so maybe, hopefully, it’s not as big a problem in the US? (We have plenty of other problems.) Thank you for your thoughtful comments, Sue. Peace and Blessings to you. ❤ xx ❤

What if we thought of this as “The News,” unqualified? What if only bad news required a qualifier? Would this change our perception of the world? Would it change the world? Thanks for this!
April 24, 2024 at 9:09 pm
I believe it would definitely change our perceptions and therefore, the world. Right now, the good news in mainstream media gets about 5% coverage. Even getting a 50/50 balance of bad/good news from mainstream media would make a big difference. Thank you for asking such thoughtful and important questions, Camilla.
