“Monumental Glimmers”

Marsh in the Afternoon by JoAnna of the Forest

“Monumental gimmers”
Hint at possibility
fleeting yet never ending.

It’s been well over a year, maybe two, since I read the words, “monumental glimmers” on Trini Lind’s blog and apparently added the next two lines. I wish I could remember which of Trini’s posts they came from. Her words spoke to me of glimpses we get of something big and beautiful beyond our understanding, one of those magical things waiting for our wits to grow sharper.

Speaking of beautiful, I hope you will Trini’s blog: https://pathsofthespirit.wordpress.com/

I’m sharing this as part of One-Liner Wednesday and Just Jot it January hosted by the enduring and endearing, Linda Hill. For details, click HERE.

The Power of Love Can Save Us

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

MLK on nonviolence and refusing to hate

If we take the refusal to hate one step further, is it possible to find something to love, or at least like, about every person?  I believe it is possible. And the honest effort is a worthy one moving us in the direction of peace and understanding. It can begin with communication, which means listening with the goal to understand, and speaking with respect, from our hearts. It is not always easy. But it is possible.

I have a dream

On the Brink of Understanding

“The world is full of magical things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.”

   W. B. Yeats (Bertrand Russell & Eden Phillpotts had similar messages)

Orange moon rise on ocean

Moon Rise on the Ocean, by JoAnne Silvia

We are on the brink of understanding many amazing things that have nothing to do with man-made technology. That was my thought after watching the video below about the possibility of trees supporting each other and communicating. It’s the same wonder I feel when I read about Dr. Masaru Emoto’s work with water. Dr. Emoto did use technologies of peace to observe and show how the structure of  water crystals is affected by words and thoughts.

I hope and pray

that we do not destroy these magical things.

I hope and pray that we open our eyes,

that we open our minds,

that we open our souls

to see, to discover, to feel the wonders of the Creation,

for Creation is the portal through which we can know God.
