Daughter Donated Part of Her Liver to Dad
In 2018, Mike Maudal was told he would need a liver transplant to survive non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) an aggressive liver disease. While waiting for a donor, his condition deterioriated steadily. Then his daughter Molly found out she could give her dad part of her liver. The living donor liver transplant happend last year. Reading this interesting article from Good Monring America, I learned that the partial livers regrow and restore normal liver function in both the donor and the recipient.
