This live oak tree has been living on the inner edge of the curve for a long time. I’m thankful it’s still there being so close to the street. Diving around this curve was a bit of a challenge when I moved into the nearby neighborhood thirty-something years ago. Now it’s a comforting landmark telling me I’m almost home. Most things get better with practice.

I love to refer to trees as landmarks – especially those closer to home. Not everyone understands which tree I am referring to .. which is another story! 🙂 Lovely tree.

I agree! I took this photo while David was driving, so it was nice be able to really see the whole tree for a change.

EEEK! So close to the curve! I’m surprised someone hasn’t tried to “improve” the situation by removing the tree; very glad they haven’t.

I feel the same way. Live oaks have a preferred status here, but I’m still pleasantly surprised it’s been kept in place.

Yay, to your old oak tree! I’m struck by the vision of the depth, extension, and size of the roots required to maintain such robust branches upright and stable.

Thanks for celebrating this old oak with me. When I visualize how vast the underground root systems must be, I am astounded.

Lovely tree and two different greens with the resurrection fern too. I wondered what that was called.

I learned it was called resurrection fern a few years ago and have been fascinated ever since. Thanks for appreciating this tree with me.

I also recognise many places by the trees around it. This one is beautiful and I could see the fern too. What a lovely one, JoAnna. So glad you shared and joined with this one. Thanks and see you around for today’s edition.
