One-Liner Wednesday on Life and Death

My local writer’s group was discussing (via email) the topic of life and death. It started with one member sharing that her husband gets a daily motivational email with the subject heading: “You’re going to die.” The idea is to make the most of your life. I would not want to get that particular reminder in my face every day. Here are a couple of alternatives for balance:

Of all the days of our lives, there is only one day we’re going to die.

May you live all the days of your life.

One Liner Wednesday is brought to us by Linda Hill who has been living all the days and years of her life.

  1. I like your versions better. I follow something similar on instagram — called yer going to die, I think — and I get the concept and appreciate the messages they post but their name still jars me every time.

  2. Thank you for sharing!!.. believe your version is best.. I don’t dwell on dying, too much life to live and, myself, I lean towards Gandhi β€œLive as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.” (Mahatma Gandhi)… πŸ™‚

    Until we meet again..
May the love that you give
    Always return to you,
That family and friends are many
    And always remain true,
May your mind only know peace
    No suffering or strife,
May your spirit only know love and happiness
    On your journey through life.

    • Too much life to live, is right! We need to focus on what we have. I had not seen that Ghandi quote before. Thanks, Larry! I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend. πŸ™‚
