Anything is Possible!

With Love, Hope, and Perseverance

May It Be

The Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “may.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

Maybe May will be a good month.

Anything is possible!

We’re in the mountains this weekend. I bought a kayak and we brought it with us. Maybe I’ll actually kayak on the lake which I’ve been wanting to do for a couple of years since we first came up here.

The photo above is the lake in the mountains where I hope to kayak. Nice and calm.

The next photo is one I took recently in the lowlands where I live most of the time. I used to paddle this lake picking up trash years ago. It has alligators, but they’re not that scary, and I don’t see them often. Years ago, when I was cleaning up the lake with my daughter, an alligator was swimming in front of us, going the same way. It kept looking back over its shoulder at us and eventually veered off. It was probably only about five or six feet long.

There could be an alligator hiding down there and we’d never know.

Maybe Mama Cat won’t miss me too much and will sleep a lot. We have a good pet sitter. It’s the fist time I’ve left her since I adopted her in October. Mama Cat. Not the pet sitter.

Maybe I’ll got to bed early tonight which is Friday – when I normally write my SoCS posts. The wind is blowing hard here in the mountains. Maybe it will sing me to sleep. That would be something different since I’m usually a night owl.

Sometimes we hear owls at our house in the lowlands. Maybe there are owls up here, too. Once I heard a strange noise outside here in the mountains late at night. It was very dark. The noise started like a growl-ish noise. But then there were quacking noises. It was like nothing I’ve ever heard before. But that memory will not help me sleep early.

Maybe there won’t be any shootings tomorrow. Dag! What a thing to write or think. Don’t want to go down that stream. Maybe things will get better. Maybe we’ll figure out how to get along better.

Maybe I will start with me getting along with myself and those closest to me.

May it be an evening star…. It that how the song goes? I’ll look…

This is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard.

Maybe it will help me sleep.

May your day and your May be filled with blessings.

  1. Pretty pictures!

  2. Sounds so serene! Made me feel calm.
LOL… adopting a pet sitter? I wonder if that’s been done?

  3. “Kayaking with alligators, (sharks, orcas, water moccasins, piranhas)” actually appears nowhere on my bucket list! You’re brave! What beautiful photos and Enya’s blessing. Wishing you everything gorgeous and peaceful.

    • I was brave once upon a time. Now, not so much – unless I have to be which I hope is not often. Thanks for the lovely wishes. It was a gorgeous day! I hope you enjoy your Sunday!

  4. I don’t know that I’d want to be on any lake with alligators. I think I prefer our local lakes where the most dangerous thing in the waters might be a snapping turtle. I suppose it’s what we’re accustomed to, JoAnna.

Have fun in the mountains and with your kayak.

    • That alligator seemed scared of our canoe. Warry at least. Still, it was nice not to have to worry about alligators today in the mountain lake. We did see a young beaver though.

  5. Beautiful landscapes! May your weekend getaway in the mountains be all you wish it to be. May your dreams and mine for a better world come to pass someday ❤

  6. May your escape to the mountains be enjoyable (and alligator free).

  7. I’m hoping May brings you lots of the wonderful.

  8. I do like the reflection shots

  9. Thank you for sharing your adventures and music!!… hope all went well with your adventure and the weekend, and every day, were filled with love and happiness for you and your family (including Mama cat)… 🙂

    Until we meet again..
    May your day be touched
by a bit of Irish luck,
    Brightened by a song
    in your heart,
    And warmed by the smiles
    of people you love.

  10. What beautiful photos, JoAnna! And it looks like such a lovely place to visit 🙂 I hope you had a good time in the kayak. A group of friends have a date to go kayaking…I have never been in one before. We will see how that goes!
Hope things are going well for you and that life is opening up a bit for you up there. Things have been so open for such a long time down here…I pretty much didn’t go out though. After having the vaccine I do feel a little better, but to be honest I don’t really feel like inside restaurants or other venues. Who knows what will be.
Thinking good thoughts for you ❤

    • I’ve found that I like kayaks better than canoes because I’m closer to the water but feel more stable, plus I like the balance of holding one long paddle and not having to switch from side to side. Things are opening up. We’ve been eating in restaurants more, mostly during the week when they are not as crowded. I never did like crowds. I hope you are well and enjoying spring! Good thoughts to you, too! ❤

      • I’ve only been in a canoe once and that didn’t turn out well 😉 This little excursion should be fun. A bunch of girls on double kayaks (will see how that goes) and we paddle to a little island where you can explore and have lunch. I’m looking forward to it! I’ve decided to add more adventures to my life after last year. I feel if it’s possible, I should take advantage!
        Have a super weekend 😊🧡
