JusJoJan: Update on Tahlequah, Grieving Mother Orca

I found a note in my drafts to “Check on Tahlequah, mother orca” who two years ago carried her deceased infant for 17 days. The orca population has been in trouble due to difficulty finding food which is primarily salmon. In July, CNN’s Good Stuff reported Tahlequah was pregnant again along with several other orcas..

So I checked and here’s the update: In September Tahlequah gave birth to a healthy baby boy. I hope he and the other orcas do well.
