Police Join Protests Against Police Brutality and Racism

Since the murder of George Floyd, many after dark protests in the US have been destructive, but in the light of day, the vast majority of protests have been peaceful. In several states police officers are joining with protesters in solidarity against police brutality and racism. Some are even taking a knee. This Forbes article gives details and photos. Below are two videos. The first shows police building bridges with protesters in Portland. The second is a summary of police officers walking with and reaching out to protesters.

Astronauts Arrive Safely at the Space Station

Two US astronauts arrived safely at the International Space station when the Dragon capsule docked on Saturday. It was the first time a space flight left from US soil since Nasa closed in 2011 and the first space mission coordinated between NASA and a commercial entity, Space X.  Here’s more from the NY Times.

  1. GOOD morning, JoAnna. Fantastic news about the police officers and protestors joining together. The juxtaposition of the space story is so important. Space is an aspirational dream for all of humanity. It points is in the direction of something bigger than our present challenges.

    • I’m pleased that it was easy to find the stories about police and protestors connecting peacefully – gives me hope that we can work out our differences. Thank you for appreciating the good news, Ray, and for pointing out the juxtaposition with the space story. We do need awareness of something beyond our present challenges. Maybe that’s why I’m such a fan of Star Trek. 🙂

  3. I hold onto the belief that good will triumph.

  4. Much needed good news, today. Thanks JoAnna.

  5. It is really good to see this solidarity from police officers.
I cannot be pleased about the prospect of a commercial space flight demonstrating that one man is rich enough to do this and others will be able to afford to ride when there is so much poverty about.

  6. Thank you for keep up the good news! I really loved the video of the newly-weds feeding the poor, wonderful souls and such a beautiful act of kindness. Have you heard of “The kindness diaries”? It´s a really uplifting show and documentary of a man who travels the world without money, solely relying on the kindness of strangers. I watched it on Netflix and really recommend it – heartwarming! Blessings 🙂

  7. Tears JoAnna…. just Tears…. Wonderful that out of tragedy may Unity arise…. There is Hope yet for mankind… to come out of this dark night into the light..
Much love for sharing these… Loved what the newly weds did also.. ❤
Sending HUGE Hugs my friend…. Love and Blessings ❤ 🙏

  8. Thank you for sharing inspired videos to show not all police officers are the same. My husband is a minister and former police officer and was always gentle with those he arrested to the point of asking if cuffs were too tight. Let us stand in solidarity and pray for God’s divine intervention. Have a wonderful day.

    • You are very welcome. Thank you for sharing about your husband. I appreciate that he was so gentle and imagine it wasn’t always easy to be different, but I bet he made an impression. Yes, let us stand in solidarity and pray for God’s divine intervention. I hope your week is going well.
