I found this on Facebook of all places. Just goes to show you can find something good anywhere. I’m doing better with resting these days and seeking balance between work, rest, and play. When I drive to the mountains, a trip that my phone says takes 5 hours, I stop two or three times to stretch, which makes it a 6 hour trip. Quality of life is more important than getting there faster. Being overly tired can make the journey become a blur. It can even be dangerous.
I remember a time when I felt guilty for resting or just unable to stop climbing mountains. Today, I’m sending this out as a reminder to myself and to all those who work too hard or just need to take time for self care.
Slowing down a little gives God time to work things out for us in the best possible way. …

AWESOME post, JoAnna! It’s our culture, isn’t it? No slacking allowed. Sometimes the resting spots are space between the notes that make the symphony work.
