Prosthetic Arms Made from Legos

Lots of media outlets are sharing this story about David Aguilar who used Legos to build himself a series of prosthetic arms when he was a teenager. He tells his story in this video:

Compromise is Possible

In hopes of avoiding another government shutdown, US negotiators have reached an “agreement in principle” regarding the issue of the border wall. Whether the US administration will accept this bipartisan deal negotiated by members of congress remains to be seen. But the point is: compromise is possible and, regardless of how I feel about the wall, I want to applaud their efforts.Β  Here’s the story from Good Morning America.

  1. JoAnna, wonderfully uplifting post and I am very taken with young David and his engineering ability to build his own arm. Very impressive and looks so cool. You can see how touched and happy his friends were for him. My friend has a young daughter with one are short and a prosthetic was designed and created by a 12-year-old boy in Florida and then sent to her here in England. It was so moving to see the young girl with her arm for the first time

    • Thank you for sharing the good news of your friend’s daughter. I can imagine how great that was to see her with her new arm. πŸ™‚ And thank you for appreciating the post and David’s story in particular. I noticed his friends, too. Feels good to know he is not only smart and resourceful, but has good friends who support him.

  2. Thanks for more uplifting news!

  3. All great stories, JoAnna. I especially love David Aguilar’s prosthetic LEGO arm. Our youth rock! Solutions to our problems exist. Like David, we just need to believe in our vision and pursue it to the finish line.
