One-Liner Wednesday: Six “Impossible” Things

“Why sometimes, I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast!”

(It just takes practice.)

It was the white Queen who said this line in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland/ Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll. I played The White Queen in an offbeat college production in the late 70s. She was zany and dear to my heart.

Now, I’m off to practice believing in the “impossible”!

  1. I believe in the possibility of world peace.
  2. (Help me out here.)

Thank you to Karen, at “Healing Your Grief,” for this reminder in her inspiring post: Warriors in Life

  1. I can’t think of any impossible thing at the moment. But it occurred to me that there might be impossible things that some people hope stay impossible although I can’t think of any of these either. It looks like I need to make my list as well.

  2. Chocolate cake is healthy…always.

    • Mmmm. Forgiveness is a process. For a long time, all I could do was pray for the willingness to forgive, or to move in the direction of forgiveness. Of course, forgiving doesn’t mean we have to expose ourselves to being hurt again. But in my case, it made room for something better.

      • I agree. For me, forgiving is hugely smug-making. Which isn’t attractive obvs. But the good outweighs the bad, so sometimes I’m possibly a touch smug… Forgiving….It annoys me so much (with hindsight) how I have forgiven and forgiven… and forgiven… What I failed to do was to allow myself to expect better from others. Not enough self esteem. I forgave bloody everything. But I don’t forget. And I feel better when I wish them well, to get on with their lives with my love and hope for happiness, but not with any other part of me or mine.

  3. I believe that I can, and indeed should, expect others to treat me as I do them. With kindness. And understanding. And wit; cause life’s too short to tolerate any ‘isms, ‘ists or pigs. (unless they’re free range, organic and not too nearby)

    • lol. I love the last part about free range, etc. And the first part, too. 🙂 I’d much rather be around happy pigs than mean people. Cause life’s too short. Thanks for your belief!

  4. Somehow, air-travel will become know for a great customer experience. Sorry, sitting at the gate.

  5. Impossible becomes I’m possible. All is possible. If you can think, you can conceive it.

  6. Kissing your own elbow!! 😀 hehee
