Maybe it’s because it’s been windy here, or maybe it’s because I miss John Denver. “The Windsong” came to me for Helen’s Song Lyric Sunday theme to “post a song with a word that describes a sound in the title or lyrics.”
“The wind is the whisper of our mother the earth…..”
See all the lyrics here
or just relax and listen:

Such a beautiful song to greet me this Sunday morning in the UK. Great idea for a poem too about nature.

One of his songs was played at my first wedding. Annie’s song. Also at my aunt’s. Which her husband died on Valentine’s Day 6 years ago. There were 23 of us up at the hospital. She played that song over and over until there was no longer any breath of life in him. It was so sad. So I have mixed emotions on that one. I love John Denver too!! Know all his music!!

❤ Me, too. Annie's song is beautiful. I'm listening to it now. 🙂

Bernard

John Denver is one of those artists whose music will far outlive him. A legend for sure. A bit of a hometown hero too – he was born in the same town I was (albeit I came much, much later). Love this song as well as many of his others.

I just looked up to find out where you were both born. Roswell. Now that’s interesting! But most importantly, I am thankful that his music lives on. I will remember it always.

I used to listen to John Denver a lot growing up but I don’t remember this song. It is such a beautiful song and it left me feeling peaceful. Thank you so much for sharing!

It’s one of his later songs. It seems like he sang with Olivia Newton John a lot at that time. I’m so glad it left you feeling peaceful. 🙂 Thanks for remembering him with me.

It did. Thanks again!

John Denver’s voice and sound is so smooth and peaceful. Wonderful choice. He left us much too soon.

It was hard to believe. In some ways, it’s still hard to believe he’s gone, with his voice so easily available. Thanks for appreciating him with me.

Thank you, Sue. It’s raining here now which is cooling things off quite a bit, so that’s nice. Love and hugs to you and wishing you a beautiful week. ❤

I’ve long been a fan of John Denver’s music, but this was one song that I didn’t know. Beautiful ❤

It’s one of his later ones. I was not that familiar with it, but it came calling to me when I saw this prompt. Glad you liked it!
