The Windsong

Song Lyric Sunday

Maybe it’s because it’s been windy here, or maybe it’s because I miss John Denver. “The Windsong” came to me for Helen’s Song Lyric Sunday theme to “post a song with a word that describes a sound in the title or lyrics.”

“The wind is the whisper of our mother the earth…..”

  1. Such a beautiful song to greet me this Sunday morning in the UK. Great idea for a poem too about nature.

  2. I love John Denver nice choice🎼🎵🎶🎹🎻🎤

    Bernard

  4. John Denver is one of those artists whose music will far outlive him. A legend for sure. A bit of a hometown hero too – he was born in the same town I was (albeit I came much, much later). Love this song as well as many of his others.

    • I just looked up to find out where you were both born. Roswell. Now that’s interesting! But most importantly, I am thankful that his music lives on. I will remember it always.

  5. I used to listen to John Denver a lot growing up but I don’t remember this song. It is such a beautiful song and it left me feeling peaceful. Thank you so much for sharing!

  6. John Denver’s voice and sound is so smooth and peaceful. Wonderful choice. He left us much too soon.

    • It was hard to believe. In some ways, it’s still hard to believe he’s gone, with his voice so easily available. Thanks for appreciating him with me.

  7. Love the songs of John Denver JoAnna.. and thank you for sharing.. Hope the wind dies down for you.. It picked up here too, but I know its done damage in certain areas across the Pond..
Love and Hugs.. Enjoy your new week.. Love Sue xx ❤

  8. This song is beautiful and spiritual. Thank you, JoAnna.

  9. I’ve long been a fan of John Denver’s music, but this was one song that I didn’t know. Beautiful ❤
