A Homeless Hero in Manchester

Positive posts on the last Friday of each month

Stephen Jones, a homeless man, was sleeping when he heard the explosion at England’s Manchester Arena. At first he ran, but quickly went back to help. Other homeless people helped, too. Opportunity for good is abundant. Here’s what’s happening.

Help Wanted: I still haven’t figured out how to get the beautiful “We Are The World” Badge on my side bar. I can get to the add image place under Appearance, but instead of an upload image button, it’s asking for an image URL. Is there a URL for this image, or is there an easier way to do this? Thanks!

  1. Stories like these always renew my hope in humanity!

As for the image url, go to your media tab and click on the image you want. It will open a pop-up with the image information and on the right-hand side you will find the image url. That is what you need to copy and paste into the widget.

  2. Hi JoAnna – what a great post … I hadn’t heard of Stephen … nor for that matter the Booth Centre – what a wonderful article highlighting what can be done.

I have to say I was horrified with what Stephen mentioned about people just running over and past kids on the ground … just so sad to read about in the circumstances … I’m sure many of us would run too – but we wouldn’t leave others.

I’m sure much more help will be forthcoming for homeless people – we all need mentors of some description through our lives … then David Sullivan junior, whose father is the WestHam boss … yet the football club is in London … so the outreach works wonders. It’s so good to read that kids are involved too helping the homeless, as well as those who have been so severely affected by the bomb incident.

Thanks for highlighting … so important to know about – cheers Hilary

  3. Hi JoAnna – interesting your comment has only just come through to my email … still it made it – and I agree we need good news: even more so now … all the best – Hilary
