Love Prevails

Angel armies guard the grieving

weeping for their sons and daughters.

How long do we wait for love to prevail?

For thirteen years he prayed

For his father to accept him

and not despise the way he loves.

He reached past the harsh words

and called again on Father’s Day.

Perhaps the prayers had made their way

Intoย  his father’s heart

or maybe Orlando’s anguish

released the simple question,

“How’s your fella doin?”

Melting the wall of sadness and

Confessing a father’s love

While there’s still time.

  1. A lovely tribute. And then I read the link! How nasty are those picketers!!!!! And in Christ’s name too.

    • The nasty picketers baffle me and make me sad. I think they sadden Jesus, too because not only do they misrepresent him, they have no idea what he is really about. But thank God for angels on earth!

  2. Such hatred in Christ’s name. I just don’t get it. Never have, never will.
Thanks for sharing this. Beautiful angels.

  3. Dear JoAnna, what a powerful posting. It is inspiring to see amongst the hatred (which I am a strong believer of the DISARM HATRED approach, because I do think there is more to this than hate, there are guns). Sorry, I didn’t mean to get political there and derail the message in this, which I think is that we are capable of amazing things, we can all be angels and it is beautiful to see when we rise and become them. Peace and love, Harlon
    P.S. Beautiful artwork as well.

    • Thanks, Harlon. I try not to get political here, but sometimes we can’t help it. The gun issue is political, but it’s also more than political. And, as Forest Gump would say, that’s all I’m going to say about that. I love what you wrote about being capable of amazing things and angels. Peace, Love and Hugs. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Beautiful JoAnna…and I believe the Angel is yours…yes? Lovely โ™ก
