President Obama’s eulogy for Rev. Pinckney

Thank you, Joanne Corey, for posting this. The President’s moving eulogy begins around 1:22:00. My favorite part starts around 1:55:00:  “Justice grows out of recognition and my liberty depends on you being free too….. an open mind, ….an open heart….that is what is called for...that reservoir of goodness…if we can find that Grace, anything is possible! If we can tap into that Grace, everything can change!”

The link below is to the inspiring eulogy that President Barack Obama gave today at the memorial service for Rev. Clementa Pinckney, who was killed last week at his church, Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal in Charleston, South Carolina. Our challenge in this country is to live up to our president’s words.

  1. Thanks for the reblog. I hope everyone in the US will listen to this eulogy. With luck, the link starts at the beginning of President Obama’s eulogy, but thanks for the timing info if it does not.

  2. I am happy to share these words calling us to become people of hope.
